About the newsletter, I have a few ideas, though I don't exactly know what all is supposed to be in it. So can there be a post explaining the vision for the newsletter. I read that its supposed to be fun and laid back, but is it going to be centered about Tvisha? Or Terpsi? Or dance in general?
Also I have never really used CorelDraw, but from what I've heard about it, isn't it more of a Graphics related software?
So here are my ideas, I don't know if they're appropriate or not, but still.
- A column on the lines of this one. http://matadornights.com/how-to-ask-“would-you-like-to-dance”-in-50-different-languages/
- A column called 'Learn the Move' ( or a way cooler name) , that is a step by step breakdown of a dance step, with pictorial representations of course.
- A tribute to MJ. Though I don't know about terpsi's views about break dance yet.
- It might sound lame, but each page could have a quote about dance, or famous dancers at the end, like a footnote. Funny or really inspiring ones.
- Also, if we could include a gossip column that could include all the gossip and stupid random stuff from tvisha, of course with an indirect approach.
- Maybe we could have an interview some famous dancers (like maybe the judges of tvisha).

Hey! I am happy to learn about your ideas:) Though i am not against anything that you have mentioned but there are a few things that i thought i should discuss:
ReplyDeleteFirstly we have to be out with the letter on the day of TWISSHA so i dont really know if there is any scope of gossip from TWISSHA but i like the idea of giving gossip in an indirect manner:)
However we could still have gossip otherwise from choreo practice sessions,outings, team members, other socities in DU etc and more often than not mostly people end up reading gossip more than anything!! So we will put all this such that other matter in the letter doesnt look dull.
Another thing we only have to care about the matter because the designing of the letter will not be done inhouse but again it will be done equally considering our ideas. So i guess we may not worry much about the software:)
Also we did something like interviews of the jury etc last year also so lets not repeat it!Plus i think interviews etc are put just to cover space incase of lack of matter..i mean its just an opinion..my personal perspective!!
akriti infact i have read some of your other posts on wordpress and acknowleding that you are a great writer i would really want you to write down on the value of dance today..i mean something bigger than performing arts..in the meanwhile i will also work on this article..and i am not forcing you to write or anything on this given fixed topic..i am just inviting your perspective..:)
But keep writing! Its good to brainstorm and zero it down to ultimately the best thing:):)
